Throughout her professional journey, she has served as an editor-in-chief, media producer, festival director, project manager, fundraiser, communication consultant, facilitator, cultural actor, and educator.
As a recognized authority in her field, she has authored several books, delivered keynote speeches at international conferences, served as a jury member at design competitions, and lectured at renowned universities. Her expertise on cities, neighbourhoods, housing, and design cultures has been sought after by media outlets including Monocle The Urbanist, Icon Magazine, Hufvudstadsbladet, MTV SuomiAreena, and Yle Finnish Broadcasting Company.
She has a keen interest in urban entrepreneurship and its impact on city vitality and sustainability, also informed by her own experience working in plinth-level retail.
Katja Lindroos has played a pivotal role in shaping Finland's creative landscape by steering the founding process of Finnish Design Info, an association connecting key actors in Finnish design, facilitating the development of Finland's architecture policy, and serving as part of the inter-ministerial secretariat that crafted the growth strategy for the creative economy at the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland.
